Two versatile art enthusiasts will this week grace the studios of African Voices Changemakers, a CNN magazine programme powered by telecommunication giant, Globacom.
African Voices Changemakers will be broadcast on CNN from 9.30 a.m. on Saturday on DSTV Channel 401 with repeat broadcasts on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 7.3.0 p.m. and on Monday at 5.30 a.m.
The guests are Sindiso Khumalo and Wendy Ntinezo , both South Africans.
Khumalo, a specialist in women’s textile designs, lives and works in Hackney, East London. She was shortlisted in 2012 for the Elle Magazine Rising Star Competition where she showcased her debut SS13 collection. Her Aretha Dress was nominated for “Most Beautiful Object in South Africa” by the Design Indaba Cape Town in February, 2013. She is committed to a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in various parts of Africa where she lends her support to the development of new textiles for her collections.
Johannesburg-based Ntinezo is an actress and stylist. She is also a mental wellness campaigner who founded the Black Merge TV, and a popular style pundit who wields a huge influence on the South African youth.
She is also a content creator and producer who recently launched a television show, “Conversations We Never Had”, where she interrogates issues bordering on human relations, religion and spirituality.
