Unless the Federal Government intensifies efforts in arresting and prosecuting pirates who pirate our products and sell bellow the cost of production, we will not make any headway.
The chairman, Board of Trustees, (BOT), Association of Music, Film Producers and Marketers of Nigeria, AMFPMN, Prince Uzoma Ubaoha, made this insertion in Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of Anambra state yesterday.
“Pirates are our greatest enemies, they are even worse than armed robbers because they put us in perpetual suffering by pirating our products and selling bellow cost of production”
“The Copy Right Commission has tried its best to stop them but more efforts should be intensified to rid them out of the market”
“Their illegal activity is part of the bothering issues we wanted to present to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state but for the death of his father, Pa Okorie Okowa, we have to postpone our visit to him.
Governor Okowas has been too good to AMFPMN and the entertainment industry”
“Other governors only remember us during political era when they use us to achieve their selfish political interest and then dump us”
“Do you know that Governor Okowa earmarked #50million to be used in fishing out 25 entertainment talents to be groomed to stardom”
“Other governors will only vabally appreciate roles of musical entertainers like us in AMFPMN but will not financially appreciate us who is cheating who. To hell with their assistance”
“We commiserate with Governor Okowa on the loss of his father Pa Okorie Okowa and if I were to be God I would have given Pa Okowa up to 200 years on earth for he was a real father that was very creative and suported us through his son, Governor Okowa”
In his contributing, the Delta state chairman of AMFPMN, Hon. Samuel Osemeka, prayed God to give Governor Okowa and family the heart with which to bear the loss recalling that late Pa Okowa had surfaced in most entertainment shows as lover of musical entertainment.
“He was a no nonsense man, a disciplinarian, hero and supporter of AMFPMN who left a legacy that we have to look up to and that is our own Gov Okowa”.
For a better society
